Question: How can I get involved with the City of Alachua?

Answer:

The City of Alachua is an active and thriving municipality with many special events, public meetings, citizen advisory boards, etc., and we are committed to making our community the best it can possibly be.

Much of that depends on the participation of our residents!

The more we interact with, and receive input from our residents, the more we can better identify with, and serve our community.

We urge our citizens to attend meetings, volunteer for various advisory boards, and of course, attend and enjoy all the special events we have regularly in The Good Life Community.

Question: Who are the Elected Officials of the City of Alachua?

The elected officials who serve the community of Alachua are a dedicated group who put serving the public as their first priority. They are committed to providing exceptional service to citizens at all times.

At Large: All of the seats on the Commission are at-large, representing not districts, but the entire community. This enables the citizens to seek redress and solutions with any of the members.

Question: What events are taking place in the City of Alachua?

Answer:

The City of Alachua is proud to host a variety of holiday and special events throughout the year. Events are sponsored by the City as well as other organizations. You can find to do in Alachua for every season. Arts and crafts festivals in the spring, the Largest Small Town Fireworks Display in America in the summer, parades and tree lighting in the fall and winter. Admission to city-sponsored events is free and the entire family is encouraged to attend.
